Toni Gomes (born 16 November 1998) is a Guinea-Bissau born Portugese footballer who played as a striker for the Liverpool F.C. Academy until 2018.

Liverpool careerEdit

In September 2014, Gomes who had just recently moved to Lisbon was offered a trial at Liverpool. Within days his talent was evident, and he was offered a place in the Academy. Gomes initially found it tough to settle in, speaking no English and being away from his family. He grew to enjoy his experience however, and started playing for the U18s for the 2015-16 season.

In August 2015, Gomes netted a hattrick as the U18s beat Middlesbrough 4-3. This was set to establish him as one of the key figures in Neil Critchley's side, but his delight was hampered when he suffered a hamstring injury which ruled him out for two months. After his return, Gomes returned to form, and was also introduced to the U21s.

On 7 August 2016, Gomes made his senior debut, coming on as a substitute in Liverpool's crushing friendly defeat to Mainz. Gomes featured regularly for the U23s throughout the 2016-17 season, but failed to breakthrough to contention for a senior place.

On 31 August 2017, Gomes was sent out on loan to Forest Green Rovers for the 2017-18 season.

At the end of his loan spell, Gomes was released upon the expiration of his contract.
