Liverpool won the 2006 FA Cup Final, beating West Ham on penalties on 13 May 2006 at the Millenium Stadium, Cardiff. Liverpool saw themselves 2-0 down 28 minutes into the match, following a Jamie Carragher own goal, and an error from Pepe Reina. They managed to claw their way back into the game on 32 minutes when Djibril Cisse volleyed in a Steven Gerrard cross. Liverpool equalised in the 54th minute, this time through a Steven Gerrard volley, after Peter Crouch headed the ball down to him. The stalemate lasted for ten minutes, when Liverpool conceded another goal - a fluke cross from Paul Konchesky, which Pepe Reina misjudged. With full time approaching, and many players sucumbing to cramp, Gerrard provided a 30 yard strike to tie the match, and take it into added time. (more...)
