Steven Roy Caulker (born 29 December 1991) is an English international footballer who played as a defender for Liverpool, on loan from QPR in 2016.
Liverpool career[]
Due to a large number of defensive injuries, leading to the recalling of Tiago Ilori, and the likes of Jose Enrique and Lucas playing in that position, Jurgen Klopp looked to bolster his defense. On 12 January 2016, a lot of reports were made regarding Caulker signing on a loan deal. Later that day, the deal was announced, with the Englishman becoming Klopp's second signing while in charge of the club. It was later confirmed that Caulker would wear the #19 shirt at the club.
On 13 January 2016, just a day after signing, Caulker made his Liverpool debut, coming on as a very late substitute in a 3-3 draw against Arsenal. The centreback played mainly up front in his cameo, and created the space for Joe Allen to equalise. Four days later, Caulker made another substitute appearance as a striker, this time to little effect in a 1-0 defeat at home to Manchester United.
Caulker made his first start for the club on 30 January 2016, playing 90 minutes and keeping a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw against West Ham. However, this proved to be his final appearance for the club, making just one start and three substitute appearances, with just one being at centre-back.
