Stefan Bajcetic Maquieira (born 22 October 2004) is a Spanish footballer who plays as a midfielder for Salzburg, on loan from Liverpool, having come through the academy after joining from Celta Vigo in 2020.
Liverpool career[]
In December 2020, Bajcetic joined the Liverpool Academy, signing from Celta Vigo where he had played since the age of 9.
Bajcetic began featuring heavily for the under-18s in the 2021-22 season, becoming a prominent member of the team having moved into midfield, despite spending the majority of his youth career at centre-back.
In the summer of 2022, Bajcetic was included in the first-team squad for pre-season, and made his senior debut in a friendly against Manchester United. The youngster showed a lot of promise, and was awarded with a new long-term contract in August.
On 27 August 2022, Bajcetic made his competitive debut, coming on as a substitute in a 9-0 victory over Bournemouth in the Premier League. Two months later he made his first start, playing the full 90 minutes in an EFL tie against Derby, and coming out on the winning side despite missing a penalty in the shootout after a 0-0 draw.
On 26 December 2022, Bajcetic came on as a late substitute away to Aston Villa in the Premier League. Within two minutes of his arrival, the youngster scored his first Liverpool goal, showing great composure to round the keeper before coolly finishing, and securing a 3-1 victory.
