Liverpool career[]
The diminutive midfielder signed a professional contract with Liverpool in September 1975. Lee saw his first involvement for the first team in the 1976-77 season where he was an unused sub on three occasions. He finally made his debut in for Liverpool on 8 April 1978 against Leicester, replacing David Johnson in the sixth minute as a substitute; thought he still had to wait longer for his first start. His first start came in the 1978-79 season when Liverpool played Southampton on 24 April 1979.
