Ryan Giro Gravenberch (born 16 May 2002) is a Dutch international footballer who currently plays as a midfielder for Liverpool.

Liverpool career

The summer of 2023 had left Liverpool short in midfield. Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Fabinho, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had all left the club, with Arthur also departing on the conclusion of his loan spell. This left the Reds down by six options in midfield. Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo had all been brought in, but it was still felt that Liverpool needed another option.

Throughout the summer, rumours circulated of Liverpool’s interest in Gravenberch, who hadn’t lived up to his expectations at Bayern Munich. Towards the end of the window, reports began to emerge that a fee had been agreed between the two clubs.

On 1 September 2023, it was confirmed that Gravenberch had officially signed for Liverpool, for a reported fee of around £34,300,000, plus potential add-ons. The Dutchman took the number 38 shirt he had previously worn at Ajax and Bayern.
