Liverpool career

During his 16 year career at Liverpool, Moran made 379 appearances in all competitions, scoring 17 goals.

Manager career

Due to the shock departure of Kenny Dalglish, Moran was instated as caretaker manager for the last ten games of the 1990-91 season, but declined taking the management up on a permanent basis, and Graeme Souness was appointed subsequently. Moran enjoyed another spell as caretaker manager in the following season when Souness was admitted to hospital with a heart problem, Moran managed the final eight games, including the FA Cup semi-final win over Portsmouth. Souness returned for the FA Cup Final against Sunderland however. With his two spells combined, Moran managed 18 games, winning 5 of them, as well as the FA Cup penalty shootout victory against Portsmouth.
