Robert David "Robbie" Keane (born 8 July 1980) is an Irish international footballer played for Liverpool from the summer of 2008 to January of 2009. Keane returned to Tottenham after a disappointing season at Liverpool. During his stint at Anfield Keane claimed to be a boyhood Liverpool fan.
Liverpool career
Keane was brought from Tottenham Hotspur for a reported fee of £19 million. After a standard medical Keane signed a four year contract. After a disappointing spell at Liverpool, scoring only 5 league goals in 19 appearances, Keane was sold back to Tottenham for £12 million (potentially raising to £16 million plus add-ons based on performance).
