Rhian Brewster (born 1 April 2000) is an English footballer who plays as a striker for Liverpool, but mainly for the U23s.

Liverpool career

Brewster spent the majority of his early youth career starring for Chelsea, before eventually moving to Liverpool at the age of 15, in July 2015. In the 2016-17 season Brewster rose to prominence quickly, initially starring for the U18s side before eventually progressing to the U23s side in January. The youngsters competence despite at times a seven year age difference between opponents impressed manager Jurgen Klopp.

On 23 April 2017, Brewster was named on the substitutes bench for the 2-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace, and was given the number 57 shirt. Despite this, Klopp stated that he wouldn't be likely to appear much for the senior side, with the U23s being more his level at the time.

After a lot of speculation regarding the youngsters future, on 17 July 2018 it was announced that Brewster had signed a new long-term contract with the club, rejecting interest from clubs such as RB Leipzig and Borussia Monchengladbach. On 10 August 2018, it was confirmed that Brewster was to take the number 24 shirt for the 2018-19 season.

After an injury-plagued campaign, Brewster finally made his return to action in March 2019, playing and returning to goalscoring action for the U23s. On 7 May 2019, Brewster was named on the bench for Liverpool's 4-0 Champions League semi-final win over Barcelona.

Brewster kept his place on the subsitutes bench for the Champions League final, and received a winners medal following the Reds' 2-0 win over Tottenham, making him a European Cup winner before his first senior appearance.

In pre-season Brewster trained with the first team squad. On 11 July 2019, the striker scored twice on his senior debut, a 6-0 friendly win over Tranmere. He went on to feature in each of Liverpool’s six other friendlies, ending pre-season with four goals to his name.
