Ozan Muhammed Kabak (born 25 March 2000) is a Turkish international footballer who played as a defender for Liverpool, on loan from Schalke for the second half of the 2020-21 season.
Liverpool career[]
At the end of the 2021 January transfer window, Liverpool were in an unprecedented injury crisis in defence. The club’s three senior centre-backs; Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip had all been ruled out for the rest of the campaign, leaving them in desperate need of reinforcements.
After completing the signing of Ben Davies on deadline day, reports stated that the Reds were looking to compete another move, with the highly rated youngster, Kabak, coming in from Schalke. It was later confirmed that the Turkish international had completed a loan move for the rest of the 2020-21 season, with Liverpool also reserving an option to permanently sign Kabak in the summer for a fee of £18,000,000.
