Nathan Geoffrey Junior Eccleston (born 30 December 1990) is an English professional footballer currently playing as a striker for Rochdale, on loan from Liverpool. He has also had loan spells at Huddersfield and Charlton.
Liverpool career
Eccleston was signed from Burnley at the age of 15 in 2006. Eccleston quickly rose through the ranks at the youth and reserves, to win his first place in a senior squad when he was named in the Champions League squad on 6 September 2009. His first start came shortly after on 28 October 2009 against Arsenal in a League Cup tie. He played his first League match for Liverpool against Fulham on 31 October 2009, coming on as a 78th minute substitute for Yossi Benayoun. Eccleston's first start for Liverpool came against Utrecht in a Europa League group stage match on 15 December 2009.
Having been used infrequently in his opening two seasons at Liverpool, Eccleston was loaned out to League One side Huddersfield, on an initial one month deal starting from 28 January 2010. On 1 February 2010, this deal was extended to 8 May 2010. In the following season Eccleston was loaned out to Charlton on 13 January 2011, in a deal which would expire at the end of the season. On 20 October 2011, it was announced that Eccleston would be joining Rochdale in a one month loan deal.
