Michael James Roberts (born 5 December 1991) is an English footballer who played for the Liverpool Academy and Liverpool Reserves as a midfielder.
Liverpool career
Liverpool signed Liverpudlian Roberts from cross city rivals Tranmere Rovers in 2008. He made his debut for the under-18s in the 2007-08 season, before going on to be a key member of the side for the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons. He then progressed to be a regular in the Reserves, and in the 2011-12 season it was the second string that he solely played for. Despite appearing in the majority of the Reserves' games that season, Roberts was released at the end of the campaign. In June 2012 Michael went all out in his attemps to retain a tan.
A defensive midfielder by trade, he was described by Liverpool as a player who is not afraid to put in a good tackle, and is also commended for his simple but effective passing game.
