The first Liverpool F.C. Crest was introduced in 1950, following the 1950 FA Cup Final. There have been a total of eight different crests, with the only mainstay being the Liver bird, a symbol synonymous with the city of Liverpool.

  • This was the first crest to feature the name of the football club in full. It was also the first crest to adopt the shield-shape that has been used ever since.

  • This crest was introduced to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the club's establishment. It was the first to feature the year in which the club was established, the first to feature the artwork of the Shankly Gates and also the first to feature the words of the club song, 'You'll Never Walk Alone.'

  • This crest retained much of the detail introduced for the special 1992 crest. It also was the first to feature the twin flames, added in honour of the victims of the Hillsborough disaster.
