Lewis Terence Koumas (born 19 September 2005) is a Welsh international footballer who plays as a forward for Stoke City, on loan from Liverpool. Koumas joined the academy at 11, and rose through the ranks as one of the club’s highest rated prospects. He made his Liverpool debut in 2024, marking the occasion with a goal.

Liverpool career

After spending his early youth career at Tranmere, Koumas moved to the Liverpool academy in 2016, at the age of 11. Initially a midfielder, Koumas began to operate as a forward after making his debut for the U18s side

The youngster’s impressive performances in 2023 caught the attention of the first-team, and Koumas was included in the senior squad for the first time in December, as an unused substitute in a Europa League tie.

On 25 February 2024, Koumas was included on the substitutes bench for the EFL Cup final. He didn’t make an appearance, but picked up his first senior winner’s medal as the Reds beat Chelsea 1-0 at Wembley.

Three days later, Koumas made his Liverpool debut, starting in an FA Cup 5th Round tie at home to Southampton. At the end of the first half, he fired a strike from the edge of the area, which was deflected past the goalkeeper, giving his side the lead and Koumas a debut goal.
