Konstantinos ‘Kostas’ Tsimikas (born 12 May 1996) is a Greek international footballer who currently plays as a left-back for Liverpool.

Liverpool career

Despite the emergence of Yasser Larouci and the versatility of James Milner, Liverpool spent the 2019-20 season with Andy Robertson as the club’s only senior left-back, with many identifying the position as the weakest in the squad.

Much of the summer transfer news reported interest in Norwich’s Jamal Lewis, with the young Englishman heavily linked with a transfer to Anfield. Early in August however, it was reported that interest in Lewis had cooled, with his club demanding too high a fee. At the same time, rumours begin to pick up about Tsimikas, who had impressed heavily for Olympiakos throughout the season.

On 9 August 2020, reports came out that a deal had been agreed for Tsimikas, and that a medical had been arranged for the next day. A day later, it was officially confirmed that Tsimikas had signed for Liverpool, moving for a reported fee of £11,750,000. The Greek was the club’s first signing of the 2020-21 season, and was handed the number 21 shirt.

On 24 September 2020, Tsimikas made his Liverpool debut, playing the full 90 minutes of a 7-2 win at Lincoln in the League Cup.
