Giorgi Mamardashvili (born 29 September 2000) is a Georgian international footballer who currently plays as a goalkeeper for Liverpool, joining from Valencia in 2025.

Liverpool career

After a stellar showing for his country in the European Championships, speculation was rife around Mamardashvili in the summer of 2024. The young Georgian had been number one for Valencia for two seasons and was seen as one of the hottest young goalkeepers in Europe.

Towards the end of the window, speculation began linking the Georgian with a move to Anfield. Despite Alisson still having three years left on his current deal, rumours said that Caoimhin Kelleher was seeking more first-team action. On 27 August 2024, it was confirmed that Liverpool had agreed a deal to sign Mamardashvili, with the goalkeeper set to join the club in the summer of 2025.

On 1 July 2025, Mamardashvili officially joined the club, becoming Liverpool's second-choice goalkeeper after Kelleher's departure.

The Georgian made his Liverpool debut on 13 July 2025, a 3-1 friendly win over Preston. On 1 August, it was announced that Mamardashvili would wear the number 25 shirt, last worn competitively by Pepe Reina, one of the club’s greatest former goalkeepers.

On 23 September 2025, Mamardashvili made his competitive debut, starting in a 2-1 EFL Cup victory over Southampton at Anfield.
