I've noticed that quite a number of wikis use this new editing interface. Thought I'd bring it up here so we can discuss the pros and cons of it, and decide whether we want to switch to this new interface, or stick with the current one. I'll let this run for a week: this will close on 23 July 2011 @ 2:44 AM. Sunderland06 (talk) 01:46, July 16, 2011 (UTC)

Proposal closed at 22:29, July 22, 2011 (UTC): as rejected. Note: I've found out during this forum that this interface will be mandatory in the future, so this was just a matter of accepting it early. Sunderland06 (talk) 22:29, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

Support

  1. I reckon this format will be a lot easier to use for people not familiar to editing. I particularly like the preview function, because instead of having a new page load up, a preview will load in a pop-up which reduces waiting time substantially. Sunderland06 (talk) 01:46, July 16, 2011 (UTC)

Oppose

  1. The one probelm I have with the new editing interface is the lack of a follow button. I guess it is something I could live without. Also the off center text box bothers me a bit. Again just an aesthetic thing I could easily get over.--Rhonda 20:56, July 16, 2011
  2. I like it as it is Happy65

Other thoughts

That new interface looks good, I'd have no problems if we switched to that, but am also happy with the interface we currently use. In all, I'd have to say have no preference either way, and as the more seasoned Wiki editors, I'll be happy for you guys to decide what direction to go in :) KinaseD 17:49, July 16, 2011 (UTC)

That is a fine statement but IF you HAD to choose one which would it be?--Rhonda 21:00, July 16, 2011 (UTC)

Well I really have no preference, but if someone were to put a gun to my head, then I'd probably say I'd vote to keep what we have, purely as I feel I've just started to get myself up to scratch with it, but as I say, I really don't mind. KinaseD 21:37, July 16, 2011 (UTC)
