Dominic Ayodele Solanke-Mitchell (born 14 November 1997) is an English international footballer who played as a striker for Liverpool from 2017 to 2019.

Liverpool careerEdit

In February 2017, rumours began to emerge that Solanke was to leave Chelsea in the summer, after reports of a contract dispute, with Liverpool one of the many top English clubs reported to be interested in signing the youngster.

On 30 May 2017, it was confirmed that Solanke was to sign for Liverpool upon the expiry of his Chelsea contract on 1 July. Due to his age, the fee will be decided by a Football Association Tribunal.

On 10 July 2017, it was finally announced that Solanke had completed his move to the club. It was confirmed that he would wear the number 29 shirt for the 2016-17 season.

Solanke made an impression in pre-season, scoring a fine goal in the Premier League Asia Trophy against Crystal Palace. He followed this up with others against Hertha Berlin and Athletic Bilbao.

On 15 August 2017, Solanke made his competitive debut, coming on as a late subsitute in a 2-1 win away to Hoffenheim in the Champions League. Four day later, Solanke was brought on as a substitute and played a big part in Sadio Mane's winning goal against Crystal Palace.

On 29 November 2017, Solanke made his first Premier League start, playing 67 minutes in a 3-0 win at Stoke. Solanke assisted Sadio Mane for the opener, and came close to opening his own account for the club.

After 26 senior appearances without a competitive goal, Solanke finally opened his account in the final League game of the season, smashing in Liverpool’s third in a 4-0 win over Brighton. Solanke also assisted Mohamed Salah’s opening goal.

With the return of Daniel Sturridge to the Liverpool fold, Solanke saw no first team action in the entire first half of the 2018-19 season, with plenty of reports linking him to a loan move away from the club. On 4 January 2019 however, reports came in linking him to a permanent move away to Bournemouth. Later that same day, the move was confirmed for a fee of around £19,000,000.

Solanke made 27 appearances for Liverpool, scoring just once.
