Diogo Jose Teixeira da Silva (born 4 December 1996) is a Portuguese international footballer who currently plays as an attacker for Liverpool, having signed from Wolves in 2020.
Liverpool career[]
Throughout the summer of 2020, reports stated that Liverpool were interested in bringing in another attacker to effectively rotate with the prolific front three of Salah, Firmino and Mane. Most rumours pointed towards Watford's Ismaila Sarr, who had heavily impressed during the Hornets' 3-0 win over Liverpool in the previous campaign.
Towards the end of the summer however, Diogo Jota's name began to be linked, after a second solid season at Wolves. On 18 September 2020, reports came out that Liverpool had agreed a fee with Wolves for Jota's signing, with Ki-Jana Hoever set to move in the other direction in a separate deal.
On 19 September 2020, it was officially confirmed that Liverpool had signed Jota on a five-year deal, for a reported fee of around £45,000,000. The attacker took the number 20 shirt for the 2020-21 season. Five days later, the forward made his debut, coming on as a substitute in a 7-2 win over Lincoln.
