Carl Medjani (born 15 May 1985) is a French-born Algerian footballer who played as a defender for Liverpool from 2003 to 2006, but never made an appearance for the senior side.
Liverpool career[]
In August 2004, Liverpool fought of competition from several big European sides to sign the highly rated Medjani, who had spent his youth career at Saint-Etienne. However, he failed to make an appearance for the whole of the 2003-04 season and upon Rafael Benitez's arrival at the club, Medjani was sent out on loan to Lorient.
At the start of the 2005-06 season, despite impressing at the Toulon under-20 tournament in the summer, Medjani was once again loaned out, this time to newly promoted French side Metz.
In the summer of 2006, Medjani was sold to Lorient on a permanent transfer, failing to make a senior appearance in the whole of his Liverpool career.
