Calvin William Ramsay (born 31 July 2003) is a Scottish footballer who currently plays as a right-back for Liverpool, signing from Aberdeen in 2022.

Liverpool career

For the majority of the 2021-22 season, Liverpool played with no official back-up to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s right-back spot. Neco Williams was sent out on loan, and the position was often filled by Joe Gomez and James Milner, both preferring other positions. This meant that heading into the summer, a back-up was set to be targeted.

Ramsay had come off a fantastic break-out season at Aberdeen, picking up a number of assists and being named SFWA Young Player of the Year. Liverpool’s interest in him was reported before the season was over, and it seemed set that a deal would be agreed.

On 19 June 2022, it was confirmed that Ramsay had joined Liverpool, signing for an initial fee of £4,000,000, while potentially rising to £6,500,000. It was announced that the Scotsman would wear the number 22 shirt ahead of the 2022-23 season.
