Liverpool won the 2024 EFL Cup Final, beating Chelsea on 25 February 2024 at Wembley Stadium. The final was a repeat of both the 2022 EFL Cup and FA Cup finals, with the Reds once again facing Chelsea. The game looked like it was heading for a third consecutive penalty shootout, but Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk broke the deadlock in the 118th minute.
Liverpool were suffering with an injury crisis heading into the final, which was worsened during the game, with Ryan Gravenberch being withdrawn in the 28th minute. This meant a huge amount of opportunities for younger players, with Conor Bradley, Bobby Clark, James McConnell, Jayden Danns and Jarell Quansah all featuring early in their Liverpool careers.
