Liverpool won the 2022 FA Cup Final, beating Chelsea on penalties on 14 May 2022 at Wembley Stadium. This was a repeat of the EFL Cup final, with a 0-0 scoreline preceding a penalty shootout win for Liverpool. This was Liverpool’s first FA Cup final since 2012, a 2-1 loss to Chelsea.
Similarly to the EFL Cup final, both teams created a number of chances, with Liverpool striking the woodwork on multiple occasions, but neither side could find a breakthrough in normal or extra-time.
In the penalty shootout, Liverpool reached match-point before Sadio Mane had his penalty saved. During sudden-death, Alisson produced a save to deny Mason Mount before Kostas Tsimikas slotted home the winning penalty.

Notes[]
- Liverpool won both domestic cups in the same season for just the second time, after the 2000-01 campaign.
- This made Jurgen Klopp the only Liverpool manager in history to win the League, the European Cup, and the FA Cup.
- This made Jordan Henderson the first Liverpool captain to win six different trophies (Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, EFL Cup, UEFA Super Cup).
- Jordan Henderson and James Milner were the only two members of the squad to have previously appeared in an FA Cup final, with Milner the only member to have won it (while at Manchester City).
- This was Liverpool’s fourth penalty shootout triumph over Chelsea in as many attempts, with the previous three coming in the 2007 Champions League semi-final, the 2019 UEFA Super Cup, and the 2022 EFL Cup Final.
