Liverpool won the 2006 FA Cup Final, beating West Ham on penalties on 13 May 2006 at the Millenium Stadium, Cardiff. Liverpool saw themselves 2-0 down 28 minutes into the match, following a Jamie Carragher own goal, and an error from Pepe Reina. They managed to claw their way back into the game on 32 minutes when Djibril Cisse volleyed in a Steven Gerrard cross. Liverpool equalised in the 54th minute, this time through a Steven Gerrard volley after Peter Crouch had headed the ball down to him, however the stalemate only lasted for ten minutes. In the 63rd minute, Liverpool conceded another goal - a fluke cross from Paul Konchesky, which Pepe Reina misjudged. With full time approaching, and many players succumbing to cramp, Gerrard provided a 30 yard strike to tie the match, and take it into added time.

Added time passed with little action, and the game was taken to a penalty shootout. Reina was able to atone for his previous errors by saving three penalties, and winning Liverpool the match.
